Poverty is not a character flaw
People can face unemployment, low wages, family emergencies, disability, housing costs, debt, or other pressures. Treating every struggling person as lazy ignores how different circumstances can be.
What it can look like
It can include exploitative working conditions, wage theft, predatory practices, barriers to basic services, or systems where the cost of being poor creates even more penalties and instability.
Fairness and responsibility
Economic justice does not mean every person must earn the same amount. To me, it means rules should not be designed to trap people, labor should be treated with dignity, and essential opportunities should not depend on arbitrary discrimination.
What justice should require
Clear labor rules, honest contracts, consequences for wage theft and fraud, fair access to opportunity, and policies judged by evidence rather than slogans.
